The Andhra Pradesh Police have bagged two President’s Police Medal Vishisht Seva Awards and 15 President’s Police Medal Meritorious Service Awards. The Central government announced the President Police Medals on the eve of Republic Day on Wednesday.
President`s Police Medals For Distinguished Service Republic Day-2023 were awarded to Atul Singh, Additional Director General Of Police, Guntur and to Sangam Venkata Rao, RSI, 6 Battalion APSP, Mangalagiri. Atul Singh is a 1995 Batch IPS officer. He worked as SP Visakhapatnam, Greyhounds, Hyderabad City Police and Cyberabad.
He worked as IGP North Zone and in-charge CP Visakhapatnam in 2014 and handled Hudhud cyclone. He further worked as Chairman SLPRB, introducing transparency and technology in police recruitment. Atul Singh went to Central deputation from 2018 to 2022, worked in Central Vigilance Commission and Joint Secretary, Ministry of Sports and looked after Khelo India and Fit India.
Venkata Rao is working as Reserve Sub Inspector of Police in Mangalagiri AP SP Sixth Battalion. In the year 1983, he took up the job as a constable and rose through the ranks. Earlier, he received Indian Police Medal in 2013 and Seva Medal in 2021.

INT. Branch, Vijayawada, Kolasani Venkata Rama Rao, Dy. Assault Commander O/O the ADGP operations (greyhounds) and Dabbakuti Surya Narayana, Reserve Inspector, AP HQRS, NTR Police Commissionerate, Vijayawada.
Commandant KSSV Subba Reddy and Additional Commandant ES Sai Prasad with other battalion officers and staff congratulated Venkata Rao. Vijayawada Police Commissioner Kanti Rana Tata and other officials congratulated Surya Narayana.
