Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday expressed confidence that Andhra Pradesh would experience a real estate boom, earning appreciation from players in the construction industry.
Speaking at a real estate conference in Guntur, the Chief Minister said he had directed Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana to formulate the country’s best real estate policy.
“I have instructed Narayana that there should be a boom in the construction sector in Andhra Pradesh, with no hurdles for developers. If required, study policies across the country and bring the best practices here to ensure the real estate industry values our efforts,” Naidu said.
The Chief Minister added that Andhra Pradesh should set the benchmark for real estate policies, making it the go-to state for the sector. He assured that if any state implemented a better policy, the TDP-led government would adopt those measures to stay ahead.
Reflecting on challenges faced by the construction sector under the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSRCP regime from 2019 to 2024, Naidu said Narayana had held multiple consultations with industry players to simplify regulations.
The CM also stressed that the Municipal Administration Department and other related agencies would relax their rules to facilitate the sector’s growth.
To streamline operations further, Naidu promised the launch of a dashboard within two months. This system would set clear timelines for permissions, with provisions for deemed approvals if deadlines were not met.
Recognising the current challenges faced by the construction industry, Naidu pledged full support to revive and boost the sector. He urged stakeholders to leave past setbacks behind and focus on progress.
Shifting focus from his traditional advocacy for IT, Naidu made a strong pitch for embracing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and tools like ChatGPT, emphasising their potential in daily life and decision-making.
He also assured balanced urban development, promising to upgrade smaller towns like Kurnool and Nellore, ensuring Andhra Pradesh’s cities rank among the best in the country.
Naidu urged industry players to maintain discipline, avoid unauthorised constructions, and report violations to the authorities.
Reaffirming his vision for Amaravati, Naidu said, “There will be no city like Amaravati in the entire country.”
