The BRS has become a hub for politicians without real public experience. At least a dozen politicians are waiting for a chance despite being the front faces of the party in public.
Palatolla Karthik Reddy, Krishank Manne, Pocharam Bhaskar, Alimineti Sandeep, Bajiregdy Jagan, Patimeedi Jagan Mohan Rao and Ravula Sridhar Reddy are among those waiting for an opportunity to enter the Legislature.
These people have been in active politics for more than a decade. Some of these politicians are children of politicians and the problem is that except KCR’s family nobody gets more than one ticket. Some of them have held good posts in opposition parties but have been waiting after induction into the BRS.
Despite starting young, their dream to become an MLA is yet to be realised. These candidates started young because of their family background and some because of their participation in the Telangana movement.
However, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is in no mood to test the waters with new faces. Some have pinned their hopes on the next election hoping that there will be a delimitation of constituencies. However, sources said that delimitation might not happen in even 2026 as it will be based on political equations. Some like Karthik who have contested from the Congress have not taken any post in the party directly.
Talasani Sai Kiran may be joining the league of these politicians. While Bonthu Ram Mohan was mayor, MLC Srinivas Reddy hoped to contest as MLAs. KCR said that those who couldn’t be accommodated as MLAs will be given some other post. But for many of them being in active public life is more important than getting nominated posts.
