The eyes of Congress leaders are now on the new in-charge of Telangana Congress Affairs, Manikrao Thakre, who is visiting Hyderabad on Wednesday. The leaders of the Congress including seniors and migrants are expecting that Thakre will set the Telangana Congress house in order.

Telangana Congress leaders had filed complaints with AICC observer Digvijaya Singh when he came to Hyderabad to take their opinions after the Telangana Congress split into Original Congress leaders and Migrant Leaders. The high command removed in-charge Manickam Tagore and posted him as the Goa Congress affairs in-charge a few days ago.

The party appointed senior Maharashtra leader Manikrao Thakre as the in-charge of Telangana Congress affairs. He is coming to Hyderabad on Wednesday and will stay for two days. Thakre will have meetings with senior leaders, PAC, EC, DCC presidents and with other committees including allied unions.

After the appointment of Thakre, some senior leaders have been attending programmes organized by the TPCC. TPCC president Revanth Reddy and CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka filed a complaint with the Moinabad police station against the 12 Congress MLAs who joined the BRS. However, the remaining senior leaders are yet to gel with the TPCC President.

The new in-charge has to settle the differences between the seniors and the TPCC president as the party has to take up the prestigious ‘Hath se Hath Jodo Abhiyan’ programme from January 26. Revanth had planned a five-month padayatra.

But AICC Programmes Implementation Committee Chairman Maheshwar Reddy said that there is no such information from the AICC, which stated in its communiqué that all leaders have to participate in the Hath se Hath Jodo Abhiyan in all constituencies for two months to meet people.

The leaders are hoping that Thakre will clear the confusion, which was prevailing over Revanth’s five-month padayatra. Thakre also has to clear all doubts being raised by senior leaders.

Senior leader V. Hanumantha Rao told ‘The Pioneer’ that Thakre gave time to seniors till 4 pm on Wednesday. He said that he will explain all things to Thakre during his meeting with him. VH said that the TPCC Political Affairs Committee meeting will be held at 6 pm on Wednesday.
