The Congress is reportedly focusing on balancing the social justice equation while allocating MLA tickets. Sources said that the Congress is trying to give preference to communities that the BRS ignored while allotting tickets like the Mudiraj community.

Mahbubnagar BJP leader NP Venkatesh belonging to the Mudiraj community left the BJP and joined the Congress.

While Erra Shekhar and Vakati Srihari, belonging to the Mudiraj community in the erstwhile Mahbubnagar district, are key members of the Congress, the recent addition of NP Venkatesh has increased the representation of the Mudiraj community in the Congress.

The votes of the Mudiraj community are crucial in many constituencies, especially in the erstwhile Mahbubnagar district. PCC President Revanth Reddy has already criticised the BRS for ignoring the Mudiraj community while announcing candidates.

MP Uttam Kumar Reddy said at Gandhi Bhavan on Friday that the BRS has committed injustice by not giving ministerial posts to the Mudiraj and Madiga communities.

Meanwhile, the BRS has not allotted even a single MLA seat to the Kuruma community. A leader from the Congress representing the Kurumas from the erstwhile Nalgonda district and erstwhile Mahbubnagar is in the run for an MLA ticket. The Congress is also focused on the Madiga community. Recently, former minister Chandra Shekhar from the Madiga community joined the Congress.

Congress leaders have said several times that the Madiga community has no representation in the state Cabinet. Former MLA Vemula Veeresham of the Madiga community belonging to Nakirekal and Mandula Samelu has resigned from the BRS. Station Ghanpur MLA Rajaiah, who belongs to the Madiga community, has also expressed his unhappiness over not receiving a ticket and has stayed away from party activities.

Apart from this, the Congress hopes to give maximum priority to the Gouda, Munnuru Kapu, and Padmasali communities. Congress leaders like PCC President Revanth Reddy and MP Uttam Kumar Reddy have already mentioned the issue of the BRS ignoring the Mudiraj and Madiga groups. The party is planning to address this issue strongly soon.
