Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan lauded the efforts of the Forest Department following the successful execution of ‘Operation Aranya,’ which led to the seizure of red sandalwood smuggled by offenders. He emphasised that red sandalwood, a rare species, plays a crucial role in ecological conservation and its protection is of utmost importance.
On Friday, Pawan Kalyan took to the social media platform ‘X’ to express his appreciation. “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the officers and personnel of the Andhra Pradesh Forest Department and the Red Sanders Anti-Smuggling Task Force for their exemplary efforts in detecting and seizing 195 red sanders logs and apprehending eight offenders involved in illegal smuggling.”
He further stated that the operation stands as a testament to the commitment of enforcement teams in safeguarding the state’s natural heritage. Red sanders is an invaluable species, and its conservation remains a priority. He commended the officials for their dedication, vigilance, and swift action in curbing such illegal activities.
He reaffirmed the Andhra Pradesh government’s commitment under Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership to combating wildlife and forest crimes. He expressed hope that this success would inspire continued vigilance and proactive enforcement to protect forests for future generations.
