Telangana Minister Harish Rao has called out a BJP MP’s claim in Parliament relating to central funding of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project.
On Wednesday, Nishikant Dubey, BJP MP from Godda, Jharkhand said that the Centre had given Rs.86,000 crore for the Kaleshwaramproject. He insisted that his statement be put on the House records, and then countered statements from BRS MPs who had questioned discrimination by the Centre.
Harish Rao said, “BJP MP has misled the Lok Sabha and the entire nation with blatant lies that the Central govt had funded Kaleshwaram Project to the tune of Rs 86,000 crore. Kaleshwaram Project is built by the Telangana govt under the leadership of CMKCR garu with state’s own funds and the loans were taken by the state govt. The fact is that not a single rupee was given by the Union BJP govt”.
