The Governor, Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan, condemned IT Minister KT Ramarao’s remarks against her after the Cabinet meeting on Monday.
Dr Tamilisai said that she had explained the reasons why she had rejected the Bills approved by the Assembly and that she does not send back Bills without a reason. She also made it clear that she is not against anyone.
Speaking to the media at the Raj Bhavan on Tuesday, Dr Tamilisai said that she is not responsible if anyone tries to blame her regarding the Bills. The Governor said that she will visit flood-hit areas soon and that she felt pain seeing the problems of the people. She said that she had sought a report from the state government on damage caused by the flood and it will be sent to the Centre. Dr Tamilisai said that many districts were affected by the recent rains.
Houses were damaged at several places, she said, and requested the government to solve the problems of the people as leaders from all political parties have submitted memorandums to her regarding flood victims.
