KCR laid foundation for modern welfare state: MLA

The foundation for a modern welfare state in Telangana was laid by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, according to Ramagundama MLA Korukanti Chander on Thursday.

He was distributed gifts to poor Christians on behalf of the State government at R K Gardens at Durganagar here.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister was giving respect to all religions. The government was not showing any discrimination against any religion. The BRS government has been implementing Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bheema and Dalit Bandhu schemes in the State. No other State has rolled out these schemes, leave alone implementing them. The poor people have been worshipping him for extending welfare schemes to them.

Chander further said that he was able to strive for the welfare of the poor and downtrodden in the constituency with the blessing of Minister for Welfare Koppula Eshwar. The development of Ramagundam was crippled because of the negligent attitude of successive governments in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh.

As part of fulfilling the election promise, Paradesi ratham, frizzier were launched. He made it clear that he would not go back on his promise. He promised to address the problems being faced by people in the constituency. Later, the MLA cut the cake and conveyed his best wishes to Christians.

Zilla Parishad cooption member Diwakar, Municipal cooption member Vanga Srinivas Goud and officials were present.

Earlier, Chander presented a cheque for Rs 3.75 lakh to Duvva Rajender who is under kidney transplantation surgery.

The Chief Minister’s Relief Fund is coming to the rescue of the poor who cannot afford expensive medical treatment. He recalled that a medical college was established here with the support of the Chief Minister and Minister for Municipal Administration K T Rama Rao.
