Minister for Social Welfare Minister Merugu Nagarjuna has said that the government is sanctioning lift irrigation projects to support the agriculture sector.
The Minister on Friday inaugurated the lift scheme, constructed under the auspices of Andhra Pradesh Irrigation Development Corporation at the cost of Rs 8.75 crore at Velama Vari Palem village in Ballikurava Mandal in Addanki Constituency.
Speaking on occasion, the State Social Welfare Minister said that the area in Addanki Constituency would become a rich agriculture area with the inauguration of the lift scheme. The minister said that the newly constructed lift scheme would help to bring 1036 acres into cultivation.
Addana constituency in-charge Bachina Krishna Chaitanya, former MLA Bachina Chenchu Garataiah, IDCE Venugopal, DE E Chenna Reddy, Ballikura Tehsildar Seetharatnam, MPDO Krishna and others participated.
