Director Nakkina Trinadha Rao has received another setback with his new film Chaurya Paatam. Turning producer for the first time, he introduced Indra Ram as the lead actor and Nikhil Gollamari as the director.
Chaurya Paatam released on April 25 but went largely unnoticed. Nakkina, known for directing hits like Cinema Chupista Mama, Nenu Local and Dhamaka, faced a big setback. Though Dhamaka did well on OTT platforms, it was a huge disaster in theaters despite reaching the Rs 100 crore mark in collections.
As a producer, Nakkina’s journey didn’t start well either. Chaurya Paatam had extremely poor theatre attendance, with some shows getting canceled and the film being removed to make way for other movies. This failure is considered a major jolt to Nakkina Trinadha Rao’s standing as both producer and filmmaker.
Currently, he is making a film with actor Havish, and the shooting has already started, according to sources.
Nakkina, who earlier directed stars like Ravi Teja and Nani, is now working with Havish, a relatively lesser-known actor. “He committed to doing a film with Havish long back, and now he is fulfilling it,” said a source.
Sources also suggest that Nakkina’s high remuneration demands have become another concern, and his career graph seems to be on a downward trajectory. It appears he may need to rethink his strategies going forward.
