Now, hire APSRTC buses for weddings, school trips

The APSRTC NTR Vijayawada Public Transport Department (PTD) authorities have announced that RTC buses would be made available for weddings and other functions on rent. The RTC is ready to provide buses for science and excursion trips as well.

“Many weddings will take place in the district up to December 18. The RTC is ready to supply buses for the special occasion,” said NTR PTD officer M Yesu Dana in a press release, here on Monday.

He said that City Ordinary, Metro Express, Palle Velugu, Express and Super Luxury buses would be supplied for all weddings and excursions. Also, A/C bus services such as Indra, Garuda, Amaravati, Dolphin Cruise and Metro Luxury buses are supplied for various programmes, he said.

He informed that about 10 per cent discount would be given to the government and government-affiliated school students for excursions. If the destination is nearby, Palle Velugu, City Ordinary and Metro Express will offer a pickup and dropping facility. The charges will be fixed considering the distance, type of bus and duration of the trip, he said.He said that City Ordinary and Metro Express services would be supplied for a minimum of six hours and 90 km distance — City Ordinary at Rs 5,130 and Metro Express at Rs 5,310. Also, for eight hours and up to 120 km, the charges will be Rs 6,840 and 7,080, respectively.

Similarly, for 10 hours and up to 150 km, the charges are Rs. 8,550 and Rs. 8,850; for 12 hours and 180 km, the RTC will charge Rs.10,260, and Rs.10,620, respectively. For14 hours and 210 km, the charges are Rs. 11,970, and Rs.12,390, and for16 hours duration and 240 km, the charges for City Ordinary is Rs.13,680 and Metro Express, Rs.14,160. Beyond 16 hours, the charge per km is Rs 57 for City Ordinary and Rs.59 for Metro Express.

Meanwhile, the minimum duration and distance for Palle Velugu, Express and Super Luxury buses are 10 hours and 250 km, and the charges are Rs 12,500, 15,000 and Rs 14,250, respectively. Also, for 12 hours and 300 km, the charges are Rs 15,000, Rs 18,000 and Rs 17,100, and for 24 hours and 480 km, the charges are fixed at Rs 24,000, Rs 28,800 and Rs 27,360, respectively.

Beyond 24 hours, for every one-kilometer distance, the rent for Palle Velugu is Rs 50, for Express Rs 60, and for Super Luxury the charge is Rs 57, he added. Those interested may contact their nearest bus depots, he said.
