Officials warned against laxity in addressing public grievances

District Collector P Uday Kumar on Monday directed the special officers at mandal level to take measures for resolution of problems being faced by people speedily. Speaking at a review meeting, shortly after receiving petitions from people during the Praja Vani programme at the District Collector here, the Collector said that a total of 26 petitions were received. He warned the special officers at mandal level against laxity in addressing public grievances. District-level officials were present.

Meanwhile, in another review meeting with the officials of the Education and Engineering Departments, Uday Kumar made it clear that all the works taken up under the Mana Ooru-Mana Badi programme should be completed on schedule.

Reviewing the progress of works under the scheme, the Collector said that the Mana Ooru-Mana Badi works were not moving at a fast pace. He pulled up the officials for failing to ensure speedy completion of works. He instructed the officials of the Education Department to pay attention to issues plaguing the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs). He asked the officials to take up works in KGBVs on a priority basis.

The district administration, he said, would soon formulate a plan of action to provide quality education to children in KGBVs and government schools. As part of the plan, some teachers would be given training. He directed the officials of the Education Department to select teachers who show dedication and commitment for undergoing training. District Education Officer Govindaraju, Statistics Officer Eswarappa, Sectoral officers Surya Chaitanya, Venkataiah, engineering officials and others were present.
