Minister for Excise Ponnam Prabhakar has hinted at Government soon starting the bars selling toddy in Telangana.
He was participating in the Atmeeya Sammelan of Gowda community members along with Jupally Krishna Rao in Mahabubnagar on Sunday.
Addressing a gathering, the Minister said that the caste-based vocations have been changing fast. Similarly, the nature of all businesses has been undergoing changes.
Therefore, he underlined the need for modernising the profession of the toddy tappers. As part of it, an action plan is being implemented to sell unadulterated toddy.
The Congress government came to power 90 days ago. Since then 20 crore women undertook free travel by RTC buses, he said.
To solve the problems of the people, the Congress should come to power at the Centre, he added.
He appealed to the people to vote for the Congress in the Lok Sabha election. He particularly urged the people to vote for Vamsichander Reddy in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He alleged that KCR, KTR and Harish Rao forfeited their right to seek votes in MLC and MP elections.
He made it clear that the Congress government would implement all guarantees given to people ahead of assembly elections.
