People are applying for schemes which are not yet rolled off by the government at the Prajavani held at Praja Bhavan on Tuesday. People applied for the Mahalakshmi scheme and Ambedkar Abhaya Hastham scheme at Praja Bhavan in Hyderabad.
People came to apply for the Mahalakshmi scheme. According to the Congress’s manifesto every woman receives Rs 2500 every month. A Sanath Nagar resident named Ruksar Begum said that she came to apply for financial assistance of Rs 2,500. “I knew that this scheme had not started yet but I am applying for it because I do not want to miss it.” “I do not have a ration card, I am not a beneficiary of free electricity bill, and LPG gas cylinder for Rs 500 also”, she added.
Some of them went to Praja Bhavan to apply for the Ambedkar Abhaya Hastham scheme. According to the Congress manifesto, under this scheme every SC, ST family would get Rs 12 lakh economic help from the government.
A Medchal resident Anjaneyulu said that he came to apply for Ambedkar Abhaya Hastham. “If the government would give Rs 12 lakh of financial assistance, it would be a great help to my family.”
A Kachiguda resident Haneez Begum said that she has not been benefitting from Rs 500 gas bill. “My husband is handicapped. We are living on pension. So I came here to request the government to provide some work for us,” she said.
Some of them were misled that August 13 was the last day to apply for Mahalakshmi scheme. A Pahadi Shareef resident Vahidha Begum said, “I came here to apply for free Rs 2,500 every month. My neighbours told me that this is the last day to apply for that scheme”.
The government received a total of 475 applications on Tuesday. Out of them, revenue department received 120 applications, minority welfare 60 applications, social welfare 53 applications, panchayat raj and rural development 38 applications, consumer affairs, food and civil supplies 36 applications and other departments 168 applications.
