Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) senior leader Daggupati Purandeswari has demanded that the government release a white paper on the programmes being implemented for the welfare of Backward Classes.

Talking to the media here on Thursday, she alleged that the YSRCP did not do anything for the welfare of BCs in the State. “The YSRCP government has adopted the policy of dividing the people on caste lines. The government has set up several corporations in the name of castes. The government is stoking people on caste lines,” she alleged.

She claimed that the BJP is the only party that strives for the welfare of underprivileged sections and does them justice and stated that the election victory in Gujarat reflects the growing popularity of the BJP among the people. She predicted that some political parties including Congress would vanish in the near future.

Commenting on the Special Category Status (SCS), Purandeswari made it clear that there is no possibility of granting SCS to any state. But instead of the SCS, an alternative could be given. The Centre has made many allocations to AP and established several national institutions, she said.

“The Centre has many financial allocations to AP but the AP government has diverted the funds to various purposes instead of taking up development projects,” she said, adding that the government has become bankrupt in such a way that it was unable to pay staff salaries.

Referring to the Delhi liquor scam, she said that the law would take its own course and an impartial inquiry would be conducted on the liquor scam links to AP by the ED officials. Taking a dig at the TDP, she said that the people of the state have lost trust in the TDP and also in Nara Lokesh.

Later she released a wall poster ‘Janam Kosam BJP’. She announced that the BJP would organise ‘Praja Darbar’ every Sunday to know the grievances of people and take steps to resolve them. District in-charge Ramesh Naidu and other leaders were present.
