Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) came under fire on social media after posting a controversial comment alongside Kiara Advani’s bikini photos from the recently released War 2 teaser. The statement sparked widespread outrage for its indecent nature, forcing RGV to delete the post amid the backlash.
The teaser for War 2 dropped on Tuesday, creating a buzz as Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR prepare to face off in the highly anticipated sequel. Alongside his commentary on the film, RGV shared an image of Kiara Advani donning a bikini from the teaser, captioning it: “Instead of our countries and societies, if the war between Hrithik and Jr NTR is on who gets her bk, then 2 will be a bbuster.” Social media users quickly condemned the remark, calling it disrespectful and sexist. The comment ignited a heated debate across platforms, including Reddit, where users expressed shock and disappointment. One user wrote, “What the actual f,” while another commented, “And this is what he is uttering publicly… Can you imagine what he is like in private?” Others described RGV’s behaviour as having “gone down bad sleazy levels” and labelled him a “creepazoid,” criticizing his repeated inappropriate remarks.
Despite the uproar surrounding RGV’s post, Kiara Advani remained positive and enthusiastic about her role in War 2. On Tuesday, she shared an Instagram Story listing several personal milestones connected to the film, including her first action film, first collaboration with stars Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, and notably, her first bikini shot.
Alongside a video, Kiara wrote: “Lots of firsts in this. First YRF film. First action film. First with these two amazing heroes. First collaboration with Ayan. And of course, first bikini shot.”
