R&B Principal Secretary visits Machilipatnam, Pedana areas

Roads and Buildings Principal Secretary Praveen Prakash, former minister and MLA Perni Venkataramaiah (Nani), Krishna District Collector P Ranjith Basha and National Highway Authority of India officials visited Machilipatnam and Pedana areas to check the road and rail connectivity with the Machilipatnam Port on Tuesday. First of all, the team inspected the Road over Bridge (ROB) works at Sultanagar of Machilipatnam. Also, they inspected NH-216 and other roads in the Machilipatnam Municipal Corporation.

The team inspected the map of road and rail connectivity as part of Phase-1of Bandar Port Development. NH-216 passes through Machilipatnam city, so the team of officials inspected an alternative route from Pedana road to Sarada Nagar in Machilipatnam for transporting materials and machinery for the development of the port to avoid traffic jams in the city. Praveen Prakash, MLA Nani and Ranjith Basha inspected the road construction works. They examined the chances of Port connectivity.

Later, Collector Ranjith Basha explained the Bandar Port Development project to the Principal Secretary. Machilipatnam Port Development Corporation Managing Director Vidya Sankar also gave him details of port development.
