Sanjay to CM: Pay Aarogyasri & fee dues

Must read

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar asked Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to release Arogyasri and fee reimbursement dues immediately. He said the approach of the Congress Government regarding education and healthcare is causing severe distress to the public.
Sanjay addressed an open letter to the CM regarding on Thursday.
“The Congress Government’s approach to implementing Aarogyasri and fee reimbursement schemes is like praising with words but mocking in action. On the one hand, they announced an increase in Aarogyasri’s limit to Rs 10 lakh and an expansion of healthcare services. But they have failed to pay pending bills, making healthcare services under Aarogyasri inaccessible to the public,” Sanjay said.

He said that after the one-year rule of the Congress, Aarogyasri dues have accumulated to over Rs 1,000 crore. Due to the government’s refusal to pay the poor are suffering without access to Aarogyasri services, Sanjay said.
“You are deliberately weakening the fee reimbursement scheme. Pending dues of the BRS government, combined with your government’s inaction, have now crossed Rs 7,000 crore. Private college administrations have openly declared that students will not be given certificates unless the dues are paid. What are you doing about this? Your refusal to pay has destroyed the future of lakhs of students,” he said.

Sanjay said that issuing Rs 380 crore as token payments months ago but failing to release them is disgraceful. The state’s proposal to clear fee reimbursement dues through a ‘One-Time Settlement’ (OTS) is shameful. Are these arrears bank loans? How can you demand cuts under OTS after allowing arrears to accumulate with interest, he said.

Sanjay said that refusing to provide funds for education and healthcare and then cutting dues through OTS, is unacceptable.
