TDP protests ‘injustice’ to BCs

The Telugu Desam party activists led by MLC Angara Rammohan Rao took out a rally in protest against the injustice being meted out to the BC communities.

The TDP cadres took out the “Idemi Kharma Mana BC laku” rally holding placards demanding to revoke the GO No 217 here on Wednesday. They raised slogans against the government’s anti-people policies.

Meanwhile, a mild tension prevailed when the police prevented the TDP leaders from going to the Collector’s office in a rally. The TDP activists pushing aside the police went ahead. A heated argument took place between the police and the TDP leaders.

The police and the TDP activists jostled, which led to a mild tension for some time. However, the police allowed a few TDP leaders into the Collector’s office. The TDP leaders met Collector P Prasanthi and submitted her memorandum.

Later talking to the media, MLC Angara Ramamohan Rao said that the BCs in the state would not trust Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy as he deceived them. He said that the BC community people constitute over 50 per cent in the state and they were being meted out injustice during the last three and half years. The progress of artisans of BC communities has crippled, he regretted.The government failed in spending the BC sub-plant funds for the welfare of BCs and due justice was not done for the BCs in respect of providing reservations proportionate to their population radio in the local bodies elections, he charged.

The TDP MLC deplored that a minister belonging to the BC community prostrated in front of YSRCP observer Subba Reddy which reflects how the BC leaders are being treated in the YSRCP.

WG district TDP president and Bhimavarm constituency in-charge Thota Sitamahalakshi called upon the BC community leaders to work in a concerted manner in unity to defeat the YSRCP. She underlined the need of Chandrababu Naidu coming to power again for the progress of the BC community people.

District BC cell president K Gouru Naidu, State Secretary Kolla Nageswara Rao, State Executive Secretary Gorrela Sridhar, Kshatriya Empowerment Committee State President Koppada Ravi and Telugu Women State Vice President Karneni Rojaramani were among those who took part in the programme.
