Rapper MC Stan, who was recently here in Hyderabad, gets candid with The Pioneer for an exclusive chat, discussing his formative days, his audience post Bigg Boss, and more.
The rap sensation MC Stan was here in Hyderabad. As he completed his gig here in the city, The Pioneer rang up to him. Beginning this exclusive chat, he says, “I started off in music with qawwalis, but I was inspired to fill the void in rap because of its lack of representation. I also got into rap because I thought it would be a great way to portray our culture truthfully.”
He argues that pure emotion speaks to all people, and that’s why his genuineness connects with so many people, even in the face of strong language. This honesty is well-received by his loyal admirers, who feel a great connection with him!
“My audience grew as a result of Bigg Boss 16, which exposed me to the public and shared my narrative with the globe. It emphasised how reality television shows can establish a personal connection with viewers, which strengthened my position in the entertainment industry,” MC Stan shares, calling in from Mumbai the day after his show in Hyderabad. He has a confident tone. He then transforms his usually light energy into something heavier! “Genuine connections and friendships are essential in the rap industry and beyond. I work with people with whom I truly connect because I believe that natural connections are more significant than planned ones. For example, Sajid Khan or Shiv Thakare.”
Naturally, you want to carry the entire city on your back when you’re a little child growing up in a slum and obsessed with the rap culture community, the posse cuts, and the fly shit. Still, MC Stan asserts that he prioritises his work over what the general public thinks. His sincerity is more convincing than any dispute, and his devoted fans stand with him no matter what—even during difficult times!
“Unexpectedly, audiences have been enthralled with my street-style lingo, which is a logical extension of my interactions in real life. This authenticity highlights the value of remaining loyal to my heritage and gives the music industry a distinct taste,” he says.
He also highlights, “I constantly explore new music and genres to keep my content fresh,” as a well-known solo rapper. “My concentration on music helps me stay in touch with my fans, even though I am not extremely active on social media.”
His family ensures that, despite his success, he maintains his humility and sense of place in the world. Recalling his lowly beginnings, “It is essential to remaining true to who I am. My goal with my record company, Hindi Records, is to leave a lasting impression by giving up-and-coming artists a stage. My advice to budding artists is to begin wherever they are, have faith in their ability, and remain authentically and passionately committed to their work.”
He is a wild rock star in the making who was creative and entertaining right away. He is partying his way through mixtapes and his own record label. He went on, “I work best when I am alone and have a clean head, which is usually early in the morning. I keep my music’s themes private to protect their uniqueness and ripoffs. The street culture is also essential to my music because it gives my songs an unvarnished quality. Not only is street life portrayed, but it also aims to motivate the people who live it to make positive changes. While I don’t overly engage in sharing personal life details, social media is crucial for announcing major achievements, knowing it brings joy to my fans,” he adds, knowing that he is tearing up the rap world with his own potential!
